It looks like the movie makers especially the producers who cannot take the financial burden for a long time will have to release the movies on the OTT now.

Last time some of them could save their face after releasing the movies on the OTT platform. Later the theatres were open and films like Jaati Ratnalu, and Vakeel Saab made tonnes of money.

Now the wave 2 of Corona has come back the theatres are getting closed due to various reasons. There is no occupancy. Now the producers have no other option but to go back to the OTT platforms.

Ram Gopal Varma has earlier said that OTT is here to stay and he has proved right now. Even if the theatres get opened again, OTT will be an alternative platform for the audience.

Akhanda of Balakrishna and Boyapati has got 65 crores for digital rights. That is the power of digital platforms these days. Acharya, Akhanda, Virata Parvam, Narappa, RRR, Drishyam 2 of Venkatesh,F3 are films that are ready for release.

They are waiting and have been postponed due to Corona. The digital rights have been already sold out for some films. So there is a chance that some films might opt for an OTT release.

So it looks like the OTT is here to stay forever.
