BRS working president KTR stated that the name of the Rajiv Gandhi Airport in Hyderabad would be changed immediately after BRS came back to power.It is also called as Shamshabad airport.
The airport was constructed by TDP Government under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu. But later Sonia inaugurated the same and named it after Rahul Gandhi.
KTR announced that the Rajiv Gandhi Airport will be renamed as PV Narasimha Rao Airport. But what if NDA comes to power in Telangana also.
Despite being in power for 10 years in Telangana, the BRS hadn’t changed the name of the Rajiv Gandhi airport but KTR has now made it clear that the renaming will happen once BRS is back in its third
tenure.
It may be noted that YSRC Government changed some names in Andhra and the NDA regime changed them to the original names. Shamshabad Airport was supposed to be named after late senior NTR.
But Babu lost the power and it was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi and named after Rajiv Gandhi.
