The Westin Hyderabad and the Asian Art House are presenting an art residency programme from 22nd-25th August 2019. Aptly titled the “Journey of the Canvas,” the unique Art Residency Programme will have 4 artists of repute, create some stunning artworks in Residence at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace.
“Journey of the Canvas,” will take art aficionados and enthusiasts on a journey of a blank canvas as it transforms into a breath-taking piece of art. Curated by the Asian Art House, this 4 day art extravaganza will have 4 artists viz. Manoj Das from Mumbai, Sayeeda Ali from Visakhapatnam, Kotegadde Ravi from Bengaluru and Hyderabad’s own Steven Gandhi in residence at the hotel where they will be working on their creations.
“Journey of the Canvas,” will have Kotegadde Ravi blending traditional Indian themes with modern art formats; Manoj Das whose insane love and passion with colours sees life, emotions and devotion in colours with fluid strokes; Steven Gandhi who adds a very different dimension as his works look very contemporary and modern, and yet when you look very closely, are synonymous with the culture and tradition of India and highlights his travels to different rural areas; and, Sayeeda Ali with her reverse painting technique, where the image is built up from behind, starting with the minutest details first and then moves outward step by step.
Speaking at the Art Residency Programme, Rohit Dar, said, “The exquisite showcase of live art exhibition will boast some splendid masterpieces by some of the renowned artists around the country. The journey is sure to captivate eyeballs and enchant one’s senses.”
