When there is widespread talk that employment is not growing in the IT sector across the country, there is no decline in employment in the state of Telangana.
Thanks to the efforts of the IT department under the dynamic leadership of KT Rama Rao. The Minister has been monitoring in person to see that the employment grows in the IT sector in Hyderabad in particular even though we are under Covid conditions.
Around 50000 employees were added to the workforce in the IT industry of Telangana. But it will be difficult to arrive at an exact number for this financial year due to new models like work-from-home and work-from-anywhere.
“The employment numbers have not come down. There are disruptions in the way the work is being done. Physical operations at the office level have been scaled down due to Covid norms. Many companies retained the staff and there is a demand for specific skills as well.
Tech Mahindra is planning to call the employees to the office from April that is the coming financial year. The employees are worried as they have work in AC rooms with closed doors. This kind of atmosphere will spread the Corona easily.
Despite slow down in the industrial sector, the IT services continue to command demand as people are working from home. Most of the work is being via net and digitisation.
This makes IT more important for the future. Most of the banking is now running via net services. Digital payment is the order of the day.
