There are no clear instructions given by the Government on the issue of the new ration cards said many officials. CM Revanth Reddy announced in the press meet that the Ration card would be the basis for giving away the six benefits.
The application for the six benefits is being accepted but in some centres they are not accepting the applications for the ration cards. Some of them are applying in the Mee Seva centres.
The Xerox shops and Mee seva centres are making a fast buck in the process.
A huge rush was also spotted at exclusive counters set up for those seeking to apply for ration cards, which would be the main criterion for selecting beneficiaries for the Six Guarantees.
Separate counters were set up for women, the physically challenged and senior citizens, for their convenience, which garnered much praise. Volunteers were also pressed into service to help illiterate/semi-literate persons fill out the application forms.
The application just demands the Aadhar and Ration card xerox.
Under GHMC limits, about 600 counters were set up across 150 wards, with about 10,000 staffers deployed for the programme.
Some centres are doing extraordinary jobs while some others are creating hardships in the name of Income certificarte, Gas allocation letter so on and so forth..
