The TRS leaders KTR and others are saying that the BCs are being used like slaves in the BJP. They are quoting the example of BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay helping HM Amit Shah with the Chappal at the Mahankali Temple in Hyderabad.
Sanjay on the other hand explained that giving chappals to the elders was not new in Telangana. He opined that the TRS and Congress were trying to politicise a non-issue.
Sanjay asked why KCR touched the feet of Pranab Mukherjee and did not touch the feet Ramnath Kovind. Earlier the former Chief Minister of T Anjaiah also carried the Chappals the then Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi the son of Indira Gandhi.
It was big news and a huge controversy those days. Now Bandi Sanjay did exactly the same, but there is no issue as such. Usually, the sons give shoes to the fathers or any other leders when they go out.
It is just a kind of respect being extended to the elders in the family. We have earlier seen some attendees carrying chappals and also bags of the VIPs.
We have also seen security guards carrying the luggage forgetting the security. Sometimes the car drivers also carry the chappals of their owners.
The domestic servants also help the old men and women while wearing shoes. There is a talk that Balka Suman the MLA also used to help KCR while going out at the old house in Banjarahills.
