It was this Chaiwala Jibe that made the Congress lose several elections. It was used against Prime Minister Modi by Rahul Gandhi, then Mani Shankar Aiyer and it boomeranged on the Congress party and benefitted the BJP and Narendra Modi.
Now in a positive manner on the eve of children’s day and Nehru birthday, Shashi Tharoor accused of his wife’s murder, gave the credit to Nehru, that a chaiwala could also become the Prime Minister of India.
He gave a positive colour to it, but people know that he was chiding at Modi.
Earlier Shashi compared Modi with a scorpion who was on a Shiva Linga and that we cannot remove it with a hand or hit with a chappal. He said that it was the description given by an RSS friend.
If you touch the scorpion will bite, if you take a chappal, you cannot use it on a Shiva Linga.
