It looks like the cine-goers are not bothered about the small and medium-range movies. They want a big star, big directors and block busters. Yesterday three big movies bombed at the box office.
No one bothered to look at these movies. They had very poor collections and no one gave a good review to these movies. Promotion is also one aspect which brings the audience to the movie in the initial days and if the movie is good the mouth talk will further take care of it.
Otherwise, it is not easy to bring the audience to the theatres. RRR was just not a great movie, but it was just promoted in a big way and the audience also liked it.
The audience in fact is looking at the movie with huge budgets. They are also liking the way violence is being highlighted in a big way in the movies.
The OTT is also playing its part. There is every need for the ticket rates to come down. Otherwise, the people will not bother to come to the theatres and spend huge money on entertainment.
Cinema in fact is going away from the poor and the middle-class audience in the form of high ticket rates.
