Anupam Kher is playing Manmohan Singh the former Prime Minister of India. This movie is based on the book Accidental PM authored by the Press secretary Sanjay Baru. Sanjay Baru was the press secretary in the UPA regime and was close to Manmohan Singh. But he later stepped down from the post.
Snajy Baru in his book showed that the Prime Minister Manmohan was an intelligent man but was guided by Sonia Gandhi and was reduced to a rubber stamp.
The film is already creating ripples across the country and it goes against the interest of the Congress party and also Gandhi family in particular. There were some objections earlier on the movie finally Anupam Kher announced that he has completed the movie and is getting ready for the release.
