The workers of the Telugu Film Industry have announced that they will be on strike from Wednesday.
Their key demand is that wages have to be revised immediately. Usually, wages are supposed to be revised every three years.
It has been four years since the wages for cine workers haven’t been revised. Therefore, as many as 40 to 50 thousand workers have decided not to attend work.
If the strike goes on, the shooting of movies in the Telugu States will come to a screeching halt, impacting production costs of big movies, medium movies and small movies.
It has also been decided that workers will surround the Film Chamber building to raise slogans of unity and solidarity. It has to be seen who will resolve the issue.
Will the MAA step in or will it be Chiranjeevi again who will assure them of the right wages.
