The youngest state Telangana has emerged as the best performer in prompting the Inclusive and Sustainable Economic growth and good wok for all on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index for 2019. This is according to the United Nations Development Programme India and also the Niti Ayog Statistics.
There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals listed and the state of Telangana has shown drastic improvement in many of them in just one years time.
In terms of Decent work and Economic Growth, the state of Telangana has improved 75 per cent in the year 2018 while it has improved 82 per cent in the year 2019.
In the sector of Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure Telangana has rised from 16 to 61 percent which is a significant achievement.
The goals that took a big leap towards improvement are Clean Water and Sanitation, that has moved from 55 percent in 2018 to 84 percent in 2019, Affordable and Clean Energy has moved from 63 percent in 2018 to 93 percent in 2019. Also in Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, the percentage has moved from 66 to 77 in one year. Only the goal for No poverty remains the same with 52 per cent on both the years.
But there is a downtrend in literacy and Health sectors.
