TELANGANA FIRST IN MOBILES RECOVERY

Telangana State achieved first place in the entire country in percentage of recovery (67.98%) of lost/stolen mobile devices using CEIR portal. DGP Sri. Anjani Kumar congratulated nodal officer ADG CID Sri. Mahesh M. Bhagwat IPS and team on this occasion for consistent monitoring and helping unit level teams in achieving this feat.
CEIR portal has been developedby Dept. of Telecommunications (DoT) to curb the menace of mobile theft and counterfeit mobile devices Telangana Police recovering mobile phones using CEIR portal has proven to be a boon to citizens of Telangana. The CEIR portal was officially launched nationwide on May 17th 2023 and was started on pilot basis in Telangana State from April 19, 2023 where as in Karnataka state in September 2022.
In Telangana State Sri. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, Addl. DGP, CID is designated as Nodal Officer for CEIR portal whois also Super User.CEIR portal is operated in all 780Police stations of  PoliceUnits of Telangana State.
ADGP, CID monitors the progress of work under CEIR portal as a result of which (5038) lost/stolen mobile devices were recovered in a span of (110) days, of which the last (1000) were recovered in (16) days and handed over to complainants.
With (5038) mobile devices recovered and (67.98%) of recovery Telangana State stands First in the entire country in percentage of recovery of Lost/stolen mobile devices using CEIR Portal, only followed by Karnataka(54.20%) and Andhra Pradesh(50.90%) placed 2nd and 3rd.
