Telangana Brahmin Samkshema Parishad,(TBSP) in its Executive Committee Meeting chaired by Dr. K.V. Ramanachary, IAS (R), has taken the following decisions:
SARASWATI VIDYA PRASASTHATI SCHEME: Under this scheme, so far a total of 252 students have been sanctioned one time financial assistance ranging from Rs.7500/- to Rs.35,000/- which include 150 of students approved in today’s meeting.
VIVEKANANDA OVERSEAS EDUCATION SCHEME: So far 56 applicants have been sanctioned an amount of Rs.1.16 crores and in today’s meeting the Committee has approved the applications of 12 students in this meeting making it a total of 68 candidates.
FEES REIMBURSEMENT TO BRAHMIN STUDENTS OF B.P.L. FAMILIES: Decided to extend one time financial assistance to the Brahmin students hailing from BPL families to enable them to continue their education by way of admission fees reimbursement as prescribed by the Government. A total of 6 applications have been received and approved by the Committee for release of fees reimbursement.
Brahmin Entrepreneurial development Scheme of Telangana (BEST): The scheme is intended to extend financial assistance to eligible Brahmin applicants who are interested to set up self-employment schemes to make a living on their own. A total of 56 applications for setting up of various small units have been approved by the Committee for extending financial assistance to a tune of Rs.3.29 crores.
LAKSHYA SCHEME: Under this scheme, 7 applications have been approved by the Executive Committee for extending financial assistance to undergo coaching for the competitive examinations.
VAGDEVI SCHEME: The scheme is meant for the students to appear for GRE/TOEFEL, etc. Only one (01) application has been received under the scheme and the Executive Committee has approved the same for extending financial assistance of Rs.52,000/-
FUNERAL EXPENSES: In addition to the earlier sanction to (five) families, the Committee has today approved two cases for release of Rs. 15000/- each to the families of late Smt. Kona Girija and late Sri Virivinti Jayaprakash Shastri.
