On the occasion of International Nurses Day-2021, I convey my heartiest greetings and wishes to all the nurses Governor Tamilisai stated.
It is also an occasion to express our immense gratitude to the nurses, who are working round-the-clock with utmost compassion and are giving the best care in these difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
I salute all the nurses for their brave, committed, dedicated and unselfish services as caregivers to the patients all the time and for their numerous sacrifices during the present pandemic conditions.
In the true spirit of International Day of Nurses-2021 theme, “A Voice to Lead: A Vision for Future Healthcare,” it is high time that we redesign the healthcare system with nursing, the largest healthcare profession, as the central in shaping the future of the healthcare.
On this occasion, I offer my tributes to the founder of the modern nursing, Florence Nightingale, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as the International Nurses Day every year on May 12th. Her ideals and services continue to inspire millions of professionals in nursing.
On the occasion of International Nurses Day, while saluting all the Nurses, let us all resolve and rededicate to end the COVID-19 pandemic and save precious lives through our COVID-appropriate behaviour and vaccination.
