Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has called for sustained efforts to rediscover the glory of Indian science.
“The numerous invasions have resulted in the destruction of ancient systems of education, science, and knowledge in our country. It is high time there was a greater research to reinvent the glory of our Indian science,” she added.
The Governor was releasing a Telugu book titled “Swatantra Samaram lo Vignana Sastram,” at a special function held at the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) at Tarnaka, here, on Saturday.
Referring to the destruction perpetrated in our country by the invaders from outside, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that in some instances, they stole our knowledge and have claimed as their own, while in some other instances, they burnt our libraries and destroyed our education system.
“Thanks to the efforts of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world is now recognizing our glorious ancient knowledge systems. The declaration of June 21 as the International Day of Yoga is one such acceptance at the global level,” she said.
The Governor exhorted the younger generation to study the books related to our freedom fighters and other unsung heroes of our country. “Read about freedom stars, not film stars,” she added.
“Our architects from the yore knew that sun was at the centre of ourplanetary system and accordingly, they carved the stone paintings in some of our temples. But for some of our politicians today, sons are at the centre of their politics,” she took a jibe.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of VignanBharathi in bringing out books on different aspects of our freedom struggle and their translated versions in Telugu language.
