Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that theTaj Mahal is an integral part of our heritage. His statement comes a few days after Taj not being included in the Heritage category by the UP Government.
A book was released to mark six months of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in Uttar Pradesh on October 2.
He further said that the entire issue was the ‘handiwork of vested interests’, a report states.
The booklet, which was released by UP Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna to promote tourist spots in the state and includes the Gorakhpur temple of which the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the main priest.
In his first comments on the controversy, Adityanath while speaking to media, said that the Uttar Pradesh government had no intent to denigrate the historical monument.
