The Indian Government has taken up the issue of the Indian students who have been arrested by the American authorities saying that they were staying illegally in the country.
129 students belonging to India were arrested by the immigration authorities and they said that the admission into one of the Universities was illegal. The students pleaded that they were duped by the University. But the authorities say that the students knew that what they were doing was illegal and they simply want to stay in the US and do some work in the name of studies.
The Indian Government under Sushma Swaraj is looking into the matter and has given top priority to the matter. It is reported that students were tagged with anklets having radio trackers and were given the boundaries. They are not allowed to venture out of the boundaries.
But some of the students and the parents argued with the local authorities that they do not know about the legality issues of the university. The University assured them that it was completely legal. The immigration attorneys also claimed that the students do not know that the University was running illegally. The Indian authorities are looking to resolve the issue at the earliest.
