The mortal remains of Sushma Swaraj the former Union Minister were cremated here at the Lodhi crematorium. She was laid to rest with full state honours.
The mortal remains were brought from the BJP headquarters for the last rites here in Delhi. The funeral was attended by all the leaders cutting across the party lines and they placed wreaths and showered rose petals for Sushma here.
Most of them moved to tears when they went to her residence and admired her as a fearless leader. People remembered the line tweeted by Sushma when she said even if you are stuck on Mars, the Indian embassy will help you out.
It was a tearful farewell to Sushma. Her husband and Daughter saluted the mortal remains here at the crematorium. The Ulta Shastra and Gun salute were given to Sushma as a mark of respect.
Politicians cutting across the party lines came here to the Lodhi crematorium. This is a personal loss to Advani as Sushma was groomed by him along with Venkaiah and also Arun Jaitley. Arun is also not doing well as far as health is concerned. For Venkaiah it is the end of the road in Politics.
On the other hand, Sushma was remembered as a traditional lady who also used Modern methods like Social media very well.
