Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu makes it clear food is a matter of personal choice. ‘I am a strict non-vegetarian. Nobody told me what to eat and what not to!,’ he clarified, while responding on the criticism over ban on cow trade and slaughter.
He is a food lover and good host. When ever there is a press meet he finds out if good snacks were arranged. If coffee, tea was ordered and that it is hot. He finds ways and means and occasions to entertain the media with food. Even it Delhi he holds meetings with media people over breakfast and lunch or dinners . He knows the media individually.Even in Hyderabad at home in Jubilee hills he meets media people over food.
On the other hand Venkaiah Naidu alleged few Media Houses has been deliberately holding debates on non-existing beef ban. He found fault with media for holding debates on the topic, ‘Whether or not India will be converted into a vegetarian country?’.
Ever since this beef ban issue, cropped up, he has been saying that food will be the choice of an individual and that no cam impose upon others that one should eat such and such a thing.
When Venkaiah was an MLA he along with Jaypal reddy used to go to blue moon hotel at Fatehmaidan in Hyderabad for chicken fry under the Chinese menu. These days he is eating fish with roti.
