The proposed STP at MGM hospital Warangal will be fully operational by the beginning of July this year, Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar said. 10 more STPs are being planned in 10 major hospitals across the state on a pilot basis which will be extended to all the major hospitals in the state, he added.

Mr Kumar informed the Union Additional Secretary Sameer Sharma when he reviewed the progress achieved so far in Warangal and Karimnagar, both of which have been selected as smart cities. Municipal commissioner of Warangal Shruthi Ojha, senior officials and members of the project management consultants were present in the meeting.

Mr Sharma was given a power point presentation on the progress achieved in Warangal in respect of Smart roads, command and control centre, Bhadrakali lake promenade and Kakatiya Musical Garden.

He observed that in order to expedite the infrastructure works in Warangal, the Principal Secretary should review every fortnight. He said that junctions development should be taken with a local theme. He pointed out that two or three parking options should be provided while taking up laying of roads.

He directed the PMC to inform the board members about the plans taken up for traffic signal improvements. Stake holders analysis should be done while taking up landscaping project. The progress of the works taken up in Karimnagar was also reviewed.

Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar stated that the board meetings of Warangal and Karimnagar smart cities will be held shortly to sort out the pending issues. He said that he would personally visit the two places shortly to inspect the works that have so far been grounded.
