Eye examination camps are being organized in every village and every municipal ward as per the government orders. The government has decided to conduct eye examinations for all people. Free glasses are being distributed to the needy.
The state government’s ambitious second phase of eye light program is continuing successfully under the continuous supervision of the authorities. From January 19, Kanti Velugu medical camps across the state are conducting eye examinations for people. Medical camps are flourishing with the coordination of local public representatives.
District authorities have made all necessary arrangements for the maintenance of the camps and no complaints have been registered. People participate in medical camps on a large scale as quality medical services are provided.
Camps are being organized at Gram Panchayat and Municipal Ward centers across the state. Medical camps conduct eye examinations every week from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Eye tests are done with the help of special software in medical camps. DEO and ANM are entering data from time to time through tabs. After the eye tests, reading glasses are distributed on the spot in the same medical camp. There is a good response from people on the conduct of eye medical camps.
Special eye camps are organized for government employees at their respective offices, for press reporters at their respective press clubs and for police battalion personnel at their respective offices.
So far, 70 lakh 02 thousand 290 people have undergone eye examinations across the state in the most prestigious eye care camps undertaken by the government. So far, 12 lakh 29 thousand 98 people have been given eye glasses in the Kanti Velugu program. In rural and urban areas of the state, majority of people are getting free medical treatment through Kanti Velugu program.
