A special meeting on the plan of action for utilisation of Godavari River water during the present Monsoon will be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao on May 17. The meeting, which will have the participation of Ministers from the Godavari catchment area and officials, will be held from 11 AM till end of the day.
What would be the quantum of water to be released from Godavari this Monsoon, how much water to be diverted to SRSP and LMD, what quantity, when should water to be released to the reservoirs, how to utilise the water and other related issues will be discussed. For this meeting, ministers from the Godavari catchment area, Sri Prashanth Reddy, Sri Indrakaran Reddy, Sri Etela Rajender,
Sri K T Rama Rao Sri Koppula Eswar, Sri Gangula Kamalakar, Sri Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Ms Satyavathi Rathod and Sri Jagadish Reddy were invited. Principal Secretary Sri Rajat Kumar, CMP Secretary Ms Smita Sabharwal, E-in-C Sri Muralidhar, SRSP CE Sri Shankar, Kaleswaram CE Sri Venkateswarlu, other irrigation senior engineers were also invited.
Like the meeting on Godavari River, the CM will also hold a meeting in a few days on the strategy to be implemented for the Krishna River water catchment area.
