The standoff between the Government and the opposition continues on the issue of women’s entry into Sabarimala Temple. While the Vijayan Government was for allowing women, the opposition that is the Congress and the BJP is against the decision of allowing women of all ages,The CM Vijayan said that the court order has to be implemented. He also added that women could be allowed on special days so that the court order would be implemented. The opposition walked out over the suggestion. Thousands of protesters have been arrested in this connection and hundreds of cases have been filed.
The all-party meeting failed and the opposition said that they are against the order of the supreme court to allow women of all ages into the Sabarimala fro Ayyappa Darshan. Several women tried to enter the Temple with security, but the attempts were foiled by the men and women protestors. The Temple board is not implementing the Supreme court Order. The BJP is also opposing the court Verdict. But Vijayan the CM says they have no other option but to implement the court order.
