When people like Chandrasekhar Rao, the CM of Telangana-Chandrababu Naidu the CM of Andhra Pradesh and Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu are trying to save the Telugu language in the Telugu states, it has gone down to the 4th place in the most spoken languages in India. That means the usage has come down from 3rd to the fourth position. The speaking in Telugu is coming down.
In Telangana, the Government has made it compulsory in the Schooling. Telugu is a must subject in the schools. Hindi is the most spoken language in India and it has the number one position.
There are about 8 crore people who speak the Telugu language now.
Malayalam,Nepali, Sindi, Telugu, Bodo are in the languages which are not growing at a faster pace. Even Urudu speakers are also coming down by the day.Even Konkani is going down.
But the latest figures have not considered people speaking Telugu in Odisha, Kharagpur and Bhilai it is reported. If it was done it would have been in the 2nd or the 3rd place.
Right from the NTR days, people have been shouting from the rooftops to safeguard Telugu but it is not happening. Even PV Narasimha Rao from Telangana who was the PM for the country also raised his voice for the sake of Telugu language. But the position is yet to improve.
One must learn English but should not forget to use the Telugu language.
