Smriti Irani on Ayyappa Darshan .. Court verdict

Smriti Irani the Union Minister said that everyone has the right to pray, but that does not mean the young women spoil the atmosphere by carrying the sanitary pads. She said that no one with menstrual cycle would like to enter the Ayyappa temple or any other temple. She cited the example when she was made to stand outside the temple while here children went inside.

Everyone has the right to pray the god she said. However, she did not comment on the court verdict that women of all ages must be allowed to enter the Ayyappa Temple.

It looked as if she said yes or no to the issue. But she sounded that women must maintain the decorum and must not carry Sanitary pads or enter the Temple with the menstrual cycle.

On the other hand, so far no women under 50 were allowed to enter the temple premises. The women must be recognised the cannot carry the blood-soaked pads into the friend’s house or the temple she said. One must know the difference and behave she explained. The temple authorities did not follow the court orders and women below 50 were not allowed. The review petitions on the court order were posted for next week.
