Sivaji Raja could be the new President of MAA according to sources in the film industry.This time the Movie Artists Association (MAA) is not interested in doing any politics or stars contesting for the posts and lobbying for the posts. They want to see that the welfare of the film stars and the former actors and workers continues as planned without any disturbance.
The earlier elections of Movie Artists Association were marred with allegations and counter allegations finally electing Rajendra Prasad for the good .There was huge mud slinging and scathing attacks on fellow actors.
That’s how MAA present body formed two years ago with Rajendra Prasad as President after he won the popular vote . Both Rajendra Prasad and his opponent Jayasudha took to TV and paper to pull down echother.
Chota mota actors like Hema with over enthusiasm have made fun of Nagababu, while Lakshmi Manchu gave her support to Jayasudha’s group. She was elected unanimously by everyone on Manchu Vishnu’s request.
However, MAA has now decided not to indulge in such power clashes and dirty politics as there is no use of it. With Rajendra Prasad’s term coming to end, we hear that the body unanimously wants actor Sivaji Raja to take over the reigns as president.
He’s currently working as General Secretary of MAA. Earlier big guns like Murali Mohan from the TDP were looking into the aspects of MAA. Now as times changed there is severe competition for the posts of MAA.
