A delegation headed by the Consul General of Singapore – Chennai Mr. Pong Kok Tian called on IT and Industries Minister KTR in Hyderabad. During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for Singapore companies to invest in various sectors such as information technology, urban infrastructure, pharma, and tourism.
Minister KTR informed the Consul General that Major global companies have already set up their offices in Hyderabad.
KTR stated that Singapore’s Surbana Jurong is preparing the master plan for Hyderabad Pharma City.
Minister highlighted the Telangana government’s industrial policy, TS-iPASS, which is a single-window clearance initiative for investors. He also stated that Telangana is consistently ranked top in Ease of Doing Business in the country.
In the meeting, Minister KTR said that Telangana state has transformed into a favorite destination for global companies in the past five years. He stated that the Telangana government will provide complete assistance to the companies who are interested in setting up their facilities in the state.
Minister KTR proposed for a meeting with the heads of Singapore companies who are looking for opportunities to invest in Telangana.
KTR requested the Consul General to visit Telangana’s industrial parks and incubators such as T-Hub to understand the ecosystem in the state. He also mentioned about the BioAsia 2020 event and requested the Consul General office to assist in inviting major pharma companies to the event.
Consul General appreciated the policies of the Telangana government and said that the investor-friendly policies of the state will encourage the Singapore companies to invest in Telangana. Vice-Consul Mr.Ivan Tan and Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan were present in the meeting.
