Signaling error was the cause

A lapse in the signaling system was said to be the main cause of the train accident it is reported. Minister for Railways Ashwini said that he will be getting the report of the probe and that there was no conspiracy behind the train accident.

One of the trains entered the loop line as there was no proper signal on time and crashed into the goods which was on the tracks.

The other train came from behind and hit the train which was already in collision with the goods train.

More than a hundred people were reported missing as per complaints received by the police and the Railways department.

The death toll may cross 3OO and over 1OOO have been injured in a horrific train derailment that occurred on Friday evening at around 7 pm in Odisha’s Balasore.

The derailment of one of the trains caused them to fall onto the opposite track. Subsequently, the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express collided with the derailed coaches, leading to the derailment of three to four of its own coaches.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has ordered a high-level probe into the derailment. “The mishap was unfortunate and the rescue operation began shortly after the incident was reported to his ministry,” the minister said.
