In a cliff-hanger, Siddipet Stallions overcame Gadwal Gladiators to score their second victory in the on going Telangana Premier Kabaddi tournament, organised by Chintala Sports Pvt Ltd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium Warangal.
On day four yesterday, Gadwal Gladiotors, who dominated the proceedings in the first half, suddenly came under pressure towards the closing stages. They lost momentum, allowing their opponents to score points at regular interval. It was Pawan, who changed the complexion of the match with his fantastic raiding to the delight of big crowd at JNS.
As the buzzer raid began the scores were locked at 28 all and the Stallions scored the all important point to win the thriller. For Stallions Suprio was a bit off colour yesterday and Jeev Gopal also struggled a bit in defense. It was only in the last few minutes they showed brilliance to help their side score second consecutive win. With two straight defeats, Gladiators will be under pressure in their next matches.
In the first match Hyderabad Bulls were again dominant as they scored a facile win over Khammam Cheetas to be in the race for semifinals.
