Former cricketer and the Minister in Punjab Navjyot Singh Siddhu reacted by saying he was backstabbed. It may be noted that the Punjab government has told the court that Siddhu should be tried in the court and that the punishment should be given to him.

People expect the government to support Siddhu but it turned otherwise.

It may be noted that Siddhu was in BJP and then joined the Congress and went on to become a Minister in the Punjab Government in the recent times. The three-decade-old road rage case came up for hearing and the Government thought it fit that Siddhu may be convicted.

Siddhu punched a man in the head when there was an altercation about parking, the other man died on the spot. Siddhu was later acquitted by the court and the same case came up again and the lawyers argued that it was due to Siddhu that the man collapsed on the spot. Sidhu assaulted one Gurnam Singh over the parking issue of cars.

It is reported that the CM Amarinder himself told that Sidhu should be prosecuted in 1988 road rage case where a person died on the sport after allegedly being hit by the then cricketer and now minister.
