Navjyoth Singh Siddhu the cricketer turned commentator turned an MP with the help of BJP. But he wanted to become a chief Minister and joined the Congress. But Amarinder Singh halted his run. Now Amarinder he hell-bent upon driving away the MLA Siddhu from Punjab. Now Siddhu had no other option but to resign to his ministry and send it to the former chief Rahu Gandhi.
Siddhu was actually influenced by AAP leaders first and then he shifted to the Congress party for his political survival. His wife is also a politician.
Siddhu has resigned but not has given any details about the resignation. Punjab is one area where Congress has done well. But Amarinder claimed that the lost some seats due to Siddhu as he did not campaign properly.
Differences cropped up between Siddhu and chief minister Amarinder. Later Siddhus portfolios have been changed.
He was not given any importance forcing Siddhu to resign from the ministry. It has to be seen what step would Siddhu take after this. Will he resign for the Congress party is the question.
The BJP is closely watching the happenings in Punjab and may launch the Akarsh as they did it in West Bengal soon.
