Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor started shooting for the Saina Nehwal biopic after months of training. But, after shooting only for a few days, she was diagnosed with dengue and was advised rest. It was reported that the actress had to resume the shoot in April, but now recent reports have suggested that Shraddha has walked out of the Amole Gupte-directorial and Parineeti Chopra has stepped in. The movie is being produced by Bhushan Kumar.
Not only this but her first collaboration with superstar Prabhas is also lining up for an August release. The duo has teamed up for the action thriller, Saaho. Shraddha will also be seen sharing the screen space with Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 3.
The source said, “Despite everyone’s best efforts to accommodate the Saina biopic, dates were clashing, so it made sense for Shraddha to opt out. The decision was taken by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Parineeti loved the script and will start prep soon.”
Confirming the news, Producer Bhushan Kumar told, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent.”
“We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics,” he added.
Meanwhile, Parineeti, who has multiple projects lined up in her kitty, is currently gearing up for the release of her next film, Kesari. The period war drama features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Apart from this, she will also be starring in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar alongside Arjun Kapoor and in Jabariya Jodi with Sidharth Malhotra.
