All is not well in the TDP circles in AP. Shilpa left the party for YSRCP and this is a big blow to Babus leadership. Now the Rift between Ghanta and Ayyanna is making headlines and people say TDP is no longer a discplined party as it was earlier.
Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ch. Ayyannapatrudu have been vying with each other for an upper hand over the party and the administration since a long time. Ayyaannapatrudu had the party supremo known his dissent over the re-induction of Ganta Srinivasa Rao into the party during the last elections at a public meeting.
Ayyanna commented that the migrants not only became politicians but also land grabbers in the district, making a veiled reference to Ganta Srinivasa Rao. This prompted Ghanta to clear the air and he wrote a letter to the CM and party chief .
Ganta’s letter assumed significance at a time when rumours are doing rounds that Ganta’s close aide was involved in the land scam in which records concerning lands worth about ₹ 2000 crore were tampered with allegedly by revenue staff in Kommadi, Madhurawada and Bheemili. The Deputy CM KE Krishna Murthy said in Amaravati on June 12 that the CM ordered a Special Investigation Team to probe into the allegations.
The rift between the two Ministers in the district came to the fore once again on with the Minister for Human Resources Ganta Srinivasa Rao dashing a letter to the Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu over the ‘diminishing’ image of the party by the statements of his Cabinet colleague Ch. Ayyannapatrudu on the recent land scam in Visakhapatnam.
Ganta , while appreciating the efforts being put in by the CM in making the city an economic capital, IT hub and a smart city post bifurcation, tried to impress upon him that this image of the city is marred by Ayyanna’s public announcements that land scams occurred in the district and some of TDP leaders were involved in those scams.
Trying to drive his point home, he said such statements from his colleague would have a bearing on their party as well. He reminded the CM of ‘baseless’ statements made by Ayyanna during Visakha Utsav and other times.
Opposition leaders were taking advantage of the situation, he felt. “CPI, CPM leaders, YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana, BJP leader Purandheswari are creating mistrust among the people over us by getting at us regularly basing on these baseless allegations,” he complained.
The minister urged the CM and the party chief to order an investigation by one of the independent agencies such as CBI, CBCID or by a sitting judge. But as usual nothing will come out. People say the ministers will not do anything all alone and they feel that all are hand in glove over the issue.
