Rachakonda Police SHE Teams is taking up a new initiative called “SHE FOR HER” in the limits of Rachakonda to create a safer environment for girl students inside the college too. Public places are already taken care by SHE teams by their decoy operation create a safer environment. But still the girl students from colleges are not coming forward to reach police when they are becoming victims of Eve-teasing. To overcome this, two senior girl students are selected from each college and they are undergoing the orientation training and empowered with awareness of Laws & Acts for Crime Against Women.
Then they are nominated as “SHE FOR HER” volunteer for the college so that any girl from the college can approach police through them. SHE FOR HER student volunteer acting as a bridge between police & students. They are helping other students with the information of how they can approach law enforcement.
This program first time launched in the Rachakonda Commissionerate on 06-07-2017 at IICT Auditorium, Nacharam and has successfully been running in all colleges in the Rachakonda Commissionerate.
Second training session to the SHE FOR HER students for 170 girls volunteers was conducted on 20.12.2017 at IICT Auditorium, Nacharam. So far, through SHE for HER volunteers, there were 17 cases of Crime against women have been reported and successfully resolved.
At present, including new SHE for HER volunteers in the Commissionerate total 570 SHE for HER volunteers are supporting to the Rachakonda SHE TEAMS .
For today training session 250 SHE FOR HER Volunteers girls actively participated. CP Rachakonda addressed all the volunteers about their responsibilities as a volunteer and explained about women Laws and appealed to them that if any crime against women if they noticed then they can take the help SHE teams Rachakonda on Whatsapp no 9490617111 or dial 100 which is available 24×7.

Smt.Saleema-Addl.DCP I/C She teams explained about SHE teams functioning and their Decoys’ with the Live Demos on the stage. Sumitra Madam of Ankuram spoke on counseling role in reconciliation. Sejal Ghiya of Cognizant technology a Margdarshak spoke on her experience with Police dept and how girls can freely move in society assisting She Teams in law enforcement.
