Shabbir Ali called on the BJP government to disclose the purpose behind this latest move of stopping rs 2000 notes and clarify whether it is an effective strategy to combat black money, as claimed by the government.

Shabbir Ali also criticized the government’s impulsive decision-making approach and accused it of not considering the consequences beforehand.

He claimed that the government’s decisions have had detrimental effects on the economy and suggested that the current decision might also lead to negative consequences.

Furthermore, Shabbir Ali scrutinized the government’s objective of curbing black money through demonetisation, stating that the Income Tax Department was still investigating approximately Rs. 1.75 lakh crore of suspicious deposits made post-demonetisation.

He contested the government’s claim of a significant amount of black money being deposited in banks post-demonetisation, emphasizing that it has yet to be substantiated
