The historical temple town of Bhadrachalam, popularly known as Bhadradri, is geared up for Sri Sitarama Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam, the mega holy event, scheduled to be performed on Wednesday on the occasion of Srirama Navami festival.
The entire temple town has been decked up colourfully in a befitting manner.This is the Navami after the formation of Telangana.
The town turned into a virtual sea of humanity as a multitude of devotees converged in the temple town to watch the celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama with Sita Devi slated for 5th. A significant number of ardent devotees of Lord Rama reached the temple town on foot from West Godavari, Krishna, and other districts.
Braving scorching sun, several devotees arrived in Bhadrachalam on foot amidst chanting of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogans. On the other hand, the VIPs and VVIPs too started flocking to the temple town to participate in the Srirama Navami festivities.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will present ‘Mutyala Talambralu’ and ‘Pattu Vastralu’ during the celestial wedding in accordance with the age old tradition .
The district Collector , who has been camping in the temple town since last few days, personally monitored the arrangements at the Kalyana Mantapam, bathing ghat, and other important venues.
The police have made unprecedented security arrangements in and around the temple town in view of the Chief Minister’s visit to Bhadrachalam.
Meanwhile, Chathusthanarchanam and Edurukolu Utsavam were organised on Saturday as a prelude to the Kalyana Mahotsavam at the shrine.
Serpentine queues were witnessed in front of the temple throughout the day on Saturday as a large number of devotees were lined up to participate in Sri Rama Padhabisekham, Suvarna Tulasi Archana, and other special pujas and rituals.
