It is a brief set back for the TDP and its chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu when things were really going well for the party. 8 people died in the public meeting yesterday as there was overcrowding in the meeting at Kandukuru.

Both the TDP and the Centre have announced exgratia for the kin of the people who died in a public meeting in the stampede. Now it is not easy for Babu to restart the meetings.

When the campaign was at its peak in the state of AP and also in Telangna, people died due to a stampede. Around 40 people died in a Pushkaram Meal earlier in front of Chandrababu.

Pilgrims rushed into the water at a time for the Pushkar bath and they died in the stampede.

Chandrababu was almost in tears after visiting the hospital and announced an exgratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the families who died in the public meeting.

Babu warned the people not to go to the nala, but they were no control over them. They came in large numbers for the meeting and there was no proper bundobust.

It would be wise for the TDP leaders to arrange meetings in a ground that has boundary walls and not on the streets with Nalas and other hurdles.

The TDP leaders did not assess the situation properly. Right now the TDP is on the backfoot and it will take some time for taking up public meetings and rallies.

The YSRC leaders area already talking over the deaths and blaming Babu for the deaths. They are holding the TDP responsible for the deaths.
