Sanitation month from August 15nth in Telangana

Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao said, that, welfare programmes like Drinking water supply, Medical facilities, Power supply and Harithaharam are directly initiated and controlled by the government reducing the burden of Gram Panchayats.

Now Gram Panchayats should concentrate only on village sanitation. CM instructed the officials to pay minimum wages to the workers involved in the sanitation and cleanliness work in the gram panchayats and required funds for sanitation will be provided.

Honourable CM reviewed on the programme of Sanitation and cleanliness to be taken up from 15th August 2018 extending for a month.

The CM said, that, Panchayat Raj Department officials appraised him that 44,000 workers are required to involve in Sanitation and Cleanliness work in 12,751 villages but at present only 27 to 28 thousand workers are present.

CM said, that, they will be continued and involved in the sanitation work and 17,000 additional workers will be recruited.

CM instructed, to pay wages not below Rs 8,500 to the workers involved in sanitation and cleanliness work. CM instructed DPOs, DLPOs, EOPRD should concentrate in effective implementation of sanitation and cleanliness work. Special officers, Panchayat secretaries should conduct the programmes of sanitation at the village level.
