Savitiri the heroine of the times of ANR and NTR is still remembered. Her action in Maayabazar as male and female is till remembered and is every green. Now she is back in lime light.
The latest buzz about Samantha is that the demure actress has been approached for a biopic on iconic late actress Savitri who reigned in the Tamil and Telugu industries in the 1950s and 60s.
Savitri, who has acted in all south languages besides Hindi, was considered as one of the finest actresses and termed the ‘Lady Sivaji’ for her histrionic talents.
Tollywood filmmaker Nag Ashwin who debuted with Yevade Subramanyam that starred Nani will helm the biopic. When we contacted Sam’s spokesperson, he did confirm that the developments are true.
“Samantha has been contacted and she is keen to listen to the story narration. She would be listening to the script later this week”, he revealed. If all goes well, she would sign on the dotted line soon.
Playing the multifaceted Savitri is not an easy proposition and would be a challenge for any actress — let’s hope Sam lives upto expectations! But sam is supposed to put on weight for being like the chubby and bubbly Savitri. May be it would be better if Samantha takes up this assignment after get married to Naga Chaitanya.
