A portion of the Salu Mantapam of the Virupaksha Temple collapsed due to heavy rains. This is considered very inasupicius by the People in the villages.
Vijayanagara district Deputy Commissioner MS Divakar, who visited the site, assured that the restoration of the Salu Mantapa will be completed within nine months.
