Cricket Icon Sachin Tendulkar has written a letter to Gadkari on the usage of helmets. Sachin who earlier campaigned on the roads and suggested the two-wheelers to wear helmets has now suggested Gadkari the Union Minister to check the quality of helmets.
Sachin who is a Rajya Sabha member and also Bharat Ratna has stated that the helmets being sold with the ISI mark were of very low quality and that they are for just namesake and they don’t really protect the head in terms of an accident.
He stated that while enforcing the helmet rule there is every need for the government to see that good quality helmets are sold to the vehicle owners. He said that as players they know as to what kind of helmets should be used so that they protect the head properly otherwise it is of no use he opined.
It may be noted that whenever he stopped at the traffic signals Sachin tried to convince the two-wheeler riders that they must use the helmets for safety and protection.
