There aren’t too many who take digs at the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in India. However, the former Indian cricketer was trolled heavily across social media after he was found attending a session of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

Sachin Tendulkar was nominated in 2012 by the UPA government in one of the 12 seats allocated for person “having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of such matters as literature, science, art and social service.”

Tendulkar was also the first sportsperson to be nominated in this category. However, he has earned flak after his attendance records showed dismal figures.

Usually, a seat is considered vacant if a member fails to turn up for 60 days. Sachin Tendulkar had previously defended his absence too, stating it was owing to his brother’s ill-health that he could not attend the sessions.
