Lingala food court is a popular hotel in Hanumakonda of Warangal district. Here you can have the meals unlimited. The customer has to pays Rs 60. If you eat the food in full without any wastage, you will get Rs 10 back as an incentive. This is for not wasting food.
But if you waste the food and leave some gains behind, you have to pay the fine of Rs50. Lingala Kedari is the owner of the hotel and he says initially there was some resistance by the customers. But people who liked the food did not waste the food.
Some Police officers who came to the hotel for meals encouraged Kedari to continue the system of fine. The fine collected is being sent to help the children of orphanages it is reported.
The fine system is being implemented since the last several months and most of them are paying the fine as it goes to the charity. Perhaps this is the first hotel in the country which imposes fines for wasting the food. So it is good to note that you get Rs 10 back for eating well and Rs 50 fine for wasting the food.
Kedari says we are doing everything on earth to get this food and that is the reason he is imposing fine for wasting the food. These days some people are urging the guests in functions and also marriages not to waste the food. In Pakistan, there is a rule not to prepare too many dishes for the marriage. The expenditure should be in limit and the food should not be wasted.
Even the Indian Government must come up with some system so that the food will not be wasted in the functions.
