In the name of inspiration, big directors use scenes and sequences from foreign movies. Mel Gibsons Brave Heart movie was copied and Indianised by Rajamouli and his father Vijayendra Prasad in several movies.
Vijayendra Prasad has written and directed the movie Rajanna for Nagarjuna and produced by Nagarjuna. It was straight from the Brave heart. Now a song where NTR gets whipped in RRR is a direct lift from Brave Heart and confirmed by Rajamouli.
Anurag Kashyap recently issued a statement that there is a healthy chance of RRR getting nominated for the Oscars next year and might even win an award in the foreign film category.
There is a talk about NTR getting nominated for the Oscars for his acting. Directors like Trivikram Srinivas also lift some sequences and set them for Telugu movies.
The directors lift the scenes and say that they are inspired by the shots and they don’t copy them. We have to understand what is the difference between inspiration and copying.
Some other directors say that Rajamouli has copied several sequences from Benhur and also Gladiator. The presence of NTR in RRR is directly from the movie Gladiator where Crowe the hero fights a tiger.
