In a sensational case between a ruling party MP and state Government of AP, the Supreme Court has granted bail to the MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju.

The Special Bench of the Supreme Court opined that the bail is justified to Raju as he is not doing well and his health condition is bad. It is conditional bail.

This comes as a severe setback to the CID of AP who lodged Raghurama in the Jail. The Court also opined that the charges were not serious and that he need not be taken into custody.

The court also opined that the investigation officer can probe in front of a magistrate. If needed for questioning he must be given one-day prior notice the Court ordered.

This is a moral victory to Raju who has been fighting against the Jagan Government for the last one year. The Court did not consider the issue under the sections of sedition.
