The Supreme Court directed that the Adult couple have a right to live together. A case was filed by a Kerala lady who wanted to live with her male friend as per wish. The court said that it was their right and wish to live together and they have every right to do so.
The top court asserted that the live-in relationships are recognised by the legislature and the adults wish should be respected. Even if the couple were not competent to get married if they are adults they are eligible to live together with the court directed.
The apex court also said that a marriage between two adults cannot be interfered with as it happened with mutual consent. Finally, the court has ruled that even without marriage the adult couple can live together with mutual consent and no one can interfere into this.
