Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari today held a video conference with the district collectors and reviewed the arrangements made to address the drinking water situation, opening up of paddy procurement centres, emergency maintenance works in schools and sun stroke. She complimented the district collectors for their excellent team work in closely monitoring the drinking water situation and ensuring uninterrupted supply in the state. Sufficient funds are available with the collectors.
She asked the collectors to continue the same vigil and monitor the situation daily tillthe onset of monsoon. Top priority should be given to ensure that every household gets sufficient water supply.
She also asked thespecial officers appointed to monitor the drinking water situation to visit villages to have first hand information about interruptions to water supply directly from the people.
Chief Secretary said that paddy procurement centres have been openedacross the state. Drinking water, ORS packets, paddy cleaners and tarpaulins have also been arranged in these centres. Referring to the emergency maintenance works in the schools, she instructed the collectors to expedite the works as the funds have also been released and necessary clearance has also been provided by the Election Commission for grounding the works.
On heat wave conditions prevailing in the state, Chief Secretary informed that district task force committees have been constituted and sensitization and capacity building measures are being taken up for community health workers, medical officers and supervisory staff. Health facilities are being ramped up and awareness is being created among the people on the Do’s and Don’t’s during heat wave Principal Secretary PR &RD Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary Education B Venkatesham, CDMA Divya, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Ross, HMWSB MD Sudarshan Reddy and other officials attended the video conference.
