As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Principal Secretary MAUD Department Danakishore has directed the officials to take precautions, to prevent the people from falling under the burden of seasonal diseases, dengue fever in the limits of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Held a review meeting with GHMC Commissioner Amrapali,Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Health Department officials on Monday at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat.
He directed officials to prevent mosquito-borne diseases, conduct anti-larvae operations, take spray operations in local ponds, Lakes and Nalas. And also to conduct awareness camps on dengue fever, seasonal diseases with the cooperation of local public representatives by setting up a system of volunteers in each colony.
Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Medical Officers should visit 268 basti Dawakhanas every day and to collect the details of dengue fevers being recorded daily and take appropriate measures to prevent it.
He suggested that awareness programs should be organized with the involvement of students of various public, private educational institutions in the limits of GHMC.
He said that field level monitoring should be strengthened.
So far only 148 dengue cases have been registered till the end of this June which is very less compared to last year.
It is noticed that the efforts were made by municipal authorities, medical teams which have taken during the last year. The Principal Secretary MA&UD added that there is a need for more focus this year as well.
