It was Revanth Reddy who invited the DGP to come and see him on the election results day. This was clarified by Aanjani Kumar to the CEC. The Election Commission on Tuesday revoked the suspension of Telangana former DGP Anjani Kumar. The poll body lifted the suspension after considering an appeal filed by the top cop.
The CEC on December 3 suspended Anjani Kumar for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) by meeting Congress candidate A. Revanth Reddy, now Chief Minister, at his residence during the counting of votes for the state Assembly elections.
The ECI had also suspended state police officers Sanjay Kumar Jain and Mahesh M Bhagwat who accompanied Anjani Kumar.
Following the suspension of Anjani Kumar, senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta was given additional charge of state DGP. We have to see how CM Revanth is going to accommodate Aanjani and other officers who made no mistake.
