Today also it is double-header time and I am sure all must be eagerly waiting for the interesting battle between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli at the Eden Gardens. The good news for Royal Challengers is that their key player AB Divelliers is going to be fit, so is Tyle Mills, the englishman. That means if both are fit Travis Head and Shane Watson have to make way for them.
RCB can’t afford to lose matches from now as they are in the bottom of the table. They have to make most of everything to be in the playoff race. They have good balance, but the opening combinations they have tried so far have not given them fruitful results. Virat and Gayle, their best openeing pair should be at their best today. Gayle loves this ground and he scored lost of runs here, including a century. We have seen big scores being chased here this season on the newly laid wicket. In the last match nearly two hundred total was chased down by Gujrat Lions, thanks to Raina’s brilliant effort.
So cricket lovers all be ready for the fireworks at the Eden Gardes today. For the KKR, most of their batsmen have been in terrific form, Gambhir, Uttapa and in particular Manish Pandey, who was was the Indian to score a century in IPL are in superb touch. And they have the best spin attack at the moment.
But in the first match of the day, Gujrat Lions are back to their home and will be taking on Kings XI Punjab. Both have two wins out of the six they have played and this match is very important for them. Hashim Amla scored a brilliant century in the last match, but that was not enough for them as they were on the losing side. Will they play any overseas bowler or go with four specialist foriegn batsmen is the question.
In the yesterday’s matches, Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergaints scored thrilling wins. RPS won a cliff-hanger against Sunrisers Hyderabad, thanks to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s swashbuckling innings. Mahi once again proved that there can not be a better finisher than him. With more then fifty runs required in the last three overs, Dhoni hammered the Sunrisers bowlers to all parts of the ground and won the match in style for RPS.
At Wankhede stadium it appeared to be a cake walk for Mumbai when Daredevils lost their sixth wicket at the score of 24. But the South African pair of Morris and Rabada batted excellently with a big partnership as they came very close to win. Bhumrah and Mclenaghan bowled nicely to win the match for Mumabi Indians.
